We are a 5 piece band that plays a lively mix of Irish and Scottish songs along with country and pop rock music. With multiple acoustic instruments and 4 lead vocalists who also provide terrific harmonies, we offer a variety of sounds during our performances where no two tunes in a row sound the same.
Our current repertoire has over six hours of music that includes traditional Irish and Scottish music (where we can add stories behind the songs) and contemporary Celtic music mixed with popular country and pop rock songs that everyone knows and sings along with us. We always provide a foot tapping, hand clapping, sing-along show for our audiences.

Whether at a festival in front of thousands, or in a pub singing songs with a pint, The Rising tries to fill every night with good craic and great music.
The Rising’s Irish Trad-Rock music has been called “...a truly original approach to some Irish favorites...a stirring animated event...an emotive experience worth every minute.”
A game between Salthill/Knocknacarra and New York GAA on March 14th at the famous Gaelic Park in the Bronx.
The venue and opposition are picked as Sean and Annette lived in the US for a number of years when newly married and Sean regularly appeared for Hartford in Gaelic Park, playing with and against many other Salthill players.
We are also encouraging any emigrants with connections to the club, or Galway in general, living in the US to join us for the game and any other part of the itinerary they can. The iconic surroundings will provide the perfect backdrop for an experience that will surely be remembered well into the future.
See Johnny O'Keefe at the bar for further details
